Re: Secret Agent X-9 Added |
Can IA please re-derive this serial so I can embed the code into my site at
http://act1nowplaying.com/MOVIESERIALMAINMENUPAGE01.aspx On Secret Agent X-9 serial, chapter's 1,4,5,6,7 and 8 have sound problems when played from the IE8 web browser. Embedding code into my site does not resolve this issue.
I promote and present IA material in a fun way, ex; add commercials before and after features.
I think the sound is off also on the serial, The Vanishing Shadow..
Thank you - Bill Williams

Re: Secret Agent X-9 Added |
Re-deriving chapters of the serial wouldn't make a difference if the uploaded files from which they're derived aren't changed. IA's encoding software, at present, makes bad derivatives from certain source files. Scott describes his encoding method
here. I think the out-of-sync derivatives are caused by the 2-pass encoding. I stopped doing that myself, and switched to 1-pass encoding for that very reason. I produce x264/aac MPEG4s with video (inverse telecined and/or grayscaled as necessary) bitrates of 1500 to 2000kbps, and audio (if PD) bitrates of 128 to 160kbps now. Encoders vary, so 2-pass encoding may not be the source of the problem IA's software has with Scott's files.
Three options come to mind for a solution to the problem:
1) Scott could alter his encoding method somehow such that in-sync derivatives are produced, make new MPEG4s, and upload them.
2) You could re-encode the MPEG4s of the affected chapters such that in-sync derivatives are produced, and upload them. You could do the same for chapters of
The Vanishing Shadow serial, too.
3) IA could get their act together.
In any case, good luck!
